- Physical demands of daily activities
- Rehabilitation goals
- Progress over time
The Exercise Physiology Process
Initial Assessment
Current function, physical capacity, relevant history and rehabilitation goals are reviewed.
Program Development
An individualised exercise program is developed based on assessment findings and functional goals.
Supervised Exercise
Exercise sessions focus on safe, appropriate and progressive rehabilitation.
Review & Progression
Exercise intensity and program content can be adjusted as physical capacity and functional goals change.
Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation
Where appropriate, exercise physiology may work alongside physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing or other services involved in the person's rehabilitation.
This allows exercise-based rehabilitation to remain aligned with broader functional and recovery goals.
